BIO
Michelle began her musical career early – at age 2. She would sing and get paid…with her favorite green M&Ms. This set the stage for years to come!
At 6, she began piano lessons, and by junior high and high school, she was involved in band, choir, leading her youth worship team at church, competing in piano competitions, and even earned a place in the Texas All-State Choir. She graduated 17th in her class from Cedar Hill High School in 1999.
From 1999-2003, Michelle attended Baylor University in Waco, TX, where she majored in Church Music. Majoring in voice and minoring in piano, she had the opportunity to study under Wanda Brister, Dr. John Cozza, Dr. Robin Fisher, and sang in choirs under the direction of Dr. Donald Bailey and Mr. John McLean.
While at Baylor, Michelle began her work in church music, serving as the pianist/organist at Chalk Bluff Baptist Church, and youth music director at First Baptist Waco. She graduated magna cum laude in 2003, receiving the Church Music Award for her class.
After Baylor, Michelle continued her work at First Baptist Waco, adding College Minister to her title. In 2005, Michelle made her move back to the metroplex, working in piano sales for two local music companies, and continuing in her work as an accompanist in the metroplex.
Today Michelle is continuing her work in the music realm. She serves as the Music Minister at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Roanoke, she continues to be an in-demand accompanist, and sings with Schola Cantorum of Ft. Worth, under the direction of Dr. Jerry McCoy. In May 2010, she opened her own private lesson studio.
When she is not teaching, playing, or singing, Michelle sells Mary Kay Cosmetics, and makes jewelry and gifts for her own online store, Belle Creek Village. Michelle and her husband, Kyle, were married in 2006, and live in Grapevine with their two dogs, Fred and Bryson.
